COURSE DETAILS

SCOPE

Upon successful completion of this course, the mariner will have received sufficient information, instruction, and assessment to satisfy the standards of:

  • IMO Model Course 1.28, Crowd Management, Passenger Safety, and Safety Training for Personnel Providing Direct Services to Passengers in Passenger Spaces
  • Training of masters, officers, ratings, and other personnel on ro-ro passenger ships and on passenger ships other than ro-ro passenger ships in STCW Code Section A-V/2

Upon successful completion of this course, the mariner will have received sufficient information, instruction, and assessment to perform the duties and responsibilities for an STCW endorsement in Crowd Management. A trainee successfully completing this training will be able to:

  • Control a crowd in an emergency situation onboard
  • Locate essential safety and emergency equipment onboard
  • Communicate effectively with passengers during an emergency
  • Demonstrate the use of personal life-saving appliances
  • Comply with the ship’s safety and emergency procedures
PREREQUISITES

There are no specific course pre-requisites. It is assumed that those attending this course will be serving seafarers or other shipboard personnel requiring this training.
