FREQUENTLY ASKED QUESTIONS

Q: Is RCM Coast Guard approved and STCW compliant?

A: Yes, RCM’s site, courses, and instructors are all approved by the USCG and STCW compliant. All RCM Maritime courses are submitted to the Coast Guard for review to ensure they comply with the current STCW regulations and established requirements. Instructor credentials are submitted to the Coast Guard and evaluated to ensure they have the skills, licenses, and other certifications/documents to teach the applicable courses of instruction. Classroom facilities are also approved by the United States Coast Guard.

Q: How do I register and pay for a class?

A: You can register on our website, via email at rcm@rcmmaritime.com, or by calling our office at 843-737-5808 to reserve your seat for your class. Some courses require a deposit to reserve your seat due to popularity. The full class payment is due prior to the start of class.

Q: What are RCM Maritime’s refund policies?

A: RCM Maritime offers a full course-only refund if the request is made at least 14 days prior to the first day of class. Refund requests received within 14 days of the course start date are not eligible for a refund.

Course fees may be transferred one time only to a future course date, provided the request is made more than 14 days in advance. Once a course fee has been transferred, it is no longer eligible for a refund, regardless of attendance in the rescheduled course.

This policy is necessary due to the logistical planning involved in coordinating instructors, many of whom travel to conduct training. Late cancellations can result in financial loss and missed opportunities for other students who may have been turned away due to limited availability.

RCM Maritime is not responsible for and will not refund any ancillary costs such as hotel expenses, flights to include flight changes, or any other travel or food costs, etc. related to a student taking, dropping out of, failing a class, class date changes or cancellations due to inclement weather or any other reason.

If RCM has to cancel class due to unforeseen circumstances, you will be reimbursed the full course amount paid.

Thank you for your understanding and cooperation.

Q: What are RCM Maritime’s re-scheduling policies?

A: If you wish to re-schedule, there are no fees. However, you must re-schedule no later than one week before the class is to occur or fees may apply.

Q: Do you offer lodging at your facility?

A: We do not, however, we have discounted rates with multiple hotels closeby.
